International House of Pancakes, but not w/ Country fried steak and eggs

Tonight started really great. I talked to Jennifer for a few minutes before the play, the play went well besides a burnt speaker during intermission. All in all a good night until we went to IHOP for food. I am not saying I don't like IHOP but the service tonight was ______ insert negative adjective/adverb which ever here. First off he took one glass to refill it with water and didn't bring it back. Actually that was secondly, the real first was that he didn't give Laura her water. Thirdly we realized that we were one silverware short. After taking our orders he didn't come back until he brought us our food because I had to ask another server if we could have another glass and a pitcher of water. We get our food and all is well and good except two of us ordered the country fried steak and eggs meal thing and both of us thought that it came with pancakes. So we were wondering about that but finally asked him and he said it didn't. Anywho then the whole check thing came and he botched that up. Charging juice to the wrong person not charging a hot chocolate to another, comeing back with it and still having it wrong. Arg!! Okay then we give him our stack of checks and he 1) doesn't ask if anyone needs change which I did -$6.20 meal I gave him a $10- 2) he didn't bring back my change. I am sitting there and finally he brings the girl's check back for the third time and I finally ask for my change. He comes back and says something like there "is this it, there was only three ones in it" "I had a put a ten in there" So then we are waiting still and instead of $3.80, he comes back with $4. By this time Laura and Liz are laughing. Liz is trying not to look at me cause I am frustrated but she is laughing. So I torment her for a little bit with some stuff from the play she hates and left the waiter $1. We filled out one of those comment cards and I tried not to cut him apart but wanted to share what bad service had been given to us. I know I should have been nicer since Elder Carlson's talk today was about giving more than they deserve because God does that to us but I was not feeling very loving at the moment. I am not going to let this one incident cause me to be prejudice against IHOP but I will definately not want to be served by Dylan or whatever his name was again. To use the Sandwhich principle, start and end with possitive, the play rocked tonight and the food at IHOP was pretty dang good. I was kindof in the mood for pancakes but I would have been very bloated if I had eaten more.

In responce to Jenn's comment on the cart. Yes it is no longer blue black, green and red. When she saw the cart, it was a nice cream tan color. Nice and uniform unlike the pictures posted here. Well she is more right than she knows when she says it is pretty fancy. Robison and I just finished "staining" the cart this evening. I put it in quotes because it was more like water color painting than staining but no need to go into that now. The play opens on Thursday of this week and we are 90-97% finished and ready. I have more pictures to add of the cart and stage but alas I took back the card reader I used previously and I can't find my roommate's. So... until another day.

A while back I posted that I had finished creating my tea cart. Well I finally have pictures to post if this blog thing will let me.

"The New Cresent Moon location" AKA The Coffee House

A couple weeks ago a friend of mine took me to what she said was a new Cresent Moon cafe' location. This excited me greatly so I told a bunch of people that there was this 'new' CMC location and it was huge in comparison. Well tonight a bunch of us were planning to go down there. I told everyone that we were going to the CMC which turned out to be The Coffee House NOT Cresent Moon cafe'. We all got there except Eric and Heidi. We figured that they just went to vespers and didn't want to come. Well turns out that Heidi's phone went dead and they didn't get the message that I was incorrect and we weren't at the Cresent Moon cafe' and we were at The Coffee House. So while we were thinking that they were a no show, they were at CMC thinking WE were a no show. Didn't find this out until Jenn went back to Laura and Liz's room and Heidi walked in with her laundry. That is when this horrible mix up came to light. I feel horrible because Heidi wanted to hang out with us tonight and see Jennifer. Tomorrow night Jenn and I are going out with some other friends and who knows what will happen Sunday so Heidi is kindof getting the shaft when it comes to Jenn time. Arg!!!!!! Hopefully things will turn out for the best. At least I now know what The Coffee house is like and that there is not a new Cresent Moon cafe' location. Thats too bad.

Why....

Today at work I wondered why I even work in the mailroom. I was so frustrated with so many people, that I just wanted to not work there any more. Between the incompetence of all but two of my fellow workers and the multiple flats, (between 250 and 350 envelopes each) I just wanted to quit. My two faithful coworkers share my frustration. We wonder how one worker still has her job after three years. The funny thing is she still doesn't know what she is doing half the time she does come in which is only half the time she is suppose to work. So do the math. Yes it may sound like I am bragging about my work ethic but I don't mean to brag. It just annoys me when other people don't pull their weight. I could just not care and not pick up their slack but then things wouldn't get done. Anyways I am way behind on uploading pictures of the set and the cart. Jennifer will be here tomorrow evening so I will use her camera and take some and up load. Alot has changed with the set since I last posted. It was over a week ago. I'm trying to end on a good note so... wha da ya think of this record setting Nebraska weather? huh huh...
